About Katie:

Katie is a food and product photographer located just north of Boston in Salem, MA. Katie photographs for restaurants, food producers, and other product-related businesses.

She specializes in collaborating with businesses to provide visual content that meets branding and advertising goals. Katie facilitates the photo shoot process from beginning to end. She uses her in-house branding experience to provide guidance for all aspects of shoot planning including working with creative partners or developing an image style guide (if this document isn't already available) for the creation of consistently on-brand visuals. Katie recommends photography surfaces/backgrounds, lighting style, and prop suggestions or assistance hiring a professional photo stylist. She has experience shooting for a wide range of end uses including: menus, signage, catalog, mailers, e-commerce, social media, web, advertising media (including large scale vehicle wraps and billboards) as well as product packaging. Her claim to fame is having shot a pen for Staples that was featured on the billboard in the center of Times Square.

“I live to photograph food. Food is the perfect mixture of product and portraiture. It’s alive, sexy, fussy, and oh so rewarding when you capture it’s sparkle. Food shows it’s unique personality— but like people, it wilts and looses it’s spark if you keep it on set too long. I like to tell the whole story of food from it’s beginning as a sunrise farm landscape to the plated arrival on the table.”

Katie's studio provides the opportunity to mix daylight and studio lighting for the best of both worlds -- the look of natural lighting but with extra sparkle and highlights. As a former in-house photographer, Katie has learned photograph efficiently to make the most of budgets and to hit aggressive deadlines. She enjoys working with both small businesses and larger corporate clients. Her studio is located just 15 miles north of Boston in the scenic seaside town of Salem, Massachusetts. She can recommend local hotel reservations and/or offer live video streaming of photoshoots to accommodate clients located virtually anywhere.
